Home made masks

Friday night I stayed at home as I had a wedding Saturday and wasn't in the mood to go out.
So I decided that it was a good oportunity to try and do a home made facial mask. I went online and googled some facial masks with the ingredients I had in the fridge.

First I did this recipe:

"Another firming egg white face mask. The honey is a humectant which means it attracts moisture and keeps it where it is supposed to be: under your skin, leaving you with a nice smooth and soft skin
What do you need:

  • 1 Egg white
  • 1 tablespoon organic Honey

How to do it:

Warm up the honey until it becomes runny (not too hot!) by putting it in a small glass or metal bowl which is immersed in hot water (or a few seconds in the microwave)

Whip the egg white into foam and add the honey

Spread the paste gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck; keep the eye area clear
Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes

Then wash it off with alternately cold and warm water and end with a splash of cold; pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finally apply a moisturizer."

I really did felt my skin was tighter and softer so I thougt it would be good to reuse the remains and do a hair mask. Once again I googled it and added more honey and olive oil to the egg whites as in this recipe:

"Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. Honey
  • 2 tbsp. Olive Oil
Mix two whole eggs with two tablespoons of olive oil. Add the honey and mix further. Smooth through hair. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and leave for one hour.  Rinse well with warm water and then shampoo as usual. Apply this mask at least once a week and you will always have beautiful and healthy hair!"

I really felt my hair was more hidrated after the mask and I went to the hairdresser the next day to blow dry my hair and she commented how hidrated my hair was, so this means it really worked! :)

Style - Elle Macpherson

Elle Macpherson has a great style.

She always go pick up her kids in great clothes. Her street style blows me away!

She tends to wear mostly pants. And her hair is always perfection.

She wears different styles of jeans, skinny or flare with big sunglasses and heels or flats.

When she's not wearing jeans she likes to wear leather pants with basic tops in neutral colours.

As she lives in London she's always seen wearing big scarfes that protect her from the cold and add some interest to her outfits.

In the red carpet department she tends to wear mostly black or white, but when she wears colour she knows how to do it! That yellow seventies outfit is one of my favourite outfits of the year.

Elle is in great form and she seems to be a very fun person as she's sporty and is always with a big smile on her face!

What do you think of her style? Do you love it as much as I do?

Friday hair inspiration

Hi,

I have been trying different hairstyles lately and I wanted to share with you some of the tricks I have been using and some pictures that inspire me!

For a Carrie Bradshaw inspired chignon I have been using a foam bun ring like this one. It looks like a donut, it's fantastic and it's a really easy and fast way to make your hair look good on a bad hair day.

My hair is really short and I have been wearing this and loving it because it looks like I have long hair :)

It's really easy to do:

1 - You just have to do a ponytail.
2 - Then put the bun ring around the ponytail.
3 - Divide the pony tail in two halfs and surround the bun with the hair in the same direction.
4 - Use bobby pins to secure the hair and it's done.

In this site they have a great tutorial.

It looks great. The only picture I have is this one, but I hope you can have an idea of what it looks like :)

I added some flower H&M pins to the side of the bun

For the weekend I am thinking of doing something different like one of these.

If I do I'll take pictures to show you! :)

Hope you try the donut bun and love it as much as I do!
